Claims against Solicitors
Solicitors like any other professional can make mistakes that cause loss. If their actions amount to negligence (ie they have breached their duty of care to you) you may be entitled to compensation.
Although the legal principles of a professional negligence claim are relatively straightforward, claims of this nature are often complex due to complicated factual issues and disagreement on the scope of the retainer. It is important to get early experienced advice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do solicitors sue other solicitors?
If another solicitor has been negligent and caused you loss, then we will pursue the solicitor on your behalf. All solicitors have a compulsory insurer and effectively the claim is against the solicitor’s insurer.
Is it difficult to pursue another solicitor?
Each case is different. Each matter is assessed on the facts, but there is no added layer of difficulty simply because the defendant is a solicitor. Solicitors have obligations to fulfil and if they fail in their duties a claim will be made. We have successfully pursued many claims against other solicitors and all have been resolved with their insurance company.
