Patrick Delaney

Patrick Delaney is a Special Counsel at Southside Legal and manages a portfolio of professional negligence and personal injury claims including public liability, medical negligence, workers’ compensation, motor vehicle accidents and institutional child abuse claims.

Patrick brings a broad range of experience to his practice having first qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004, and worked in various clinical roles and insurance claims management prior to his admission as a solicitor. He has represented clients in both Queensland and New South Wales jurisdictions and takes great satisfaction in providing his clients an opportunity to take back control in a time of distress and uncertainty for their future.

Patrick holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy / Bachelor of Exercise Science from Griffith University, and a Juris Doctor professional degree in law from the University of New South Wales and is a member of the following:

  • Queensland Law Society

  • Australian Physiotherapy Association

Over the course of my career, both in physiotherapy and law, I have always taken the most satisfaction out of connecting with and helping people along the journey of recovery. Where recovery is not possible, the practice of compensation law is about ensuring our clients are aware of their rights and fighting to ensure they receive what they are entitled to as an acknowledgement of the impact their injury or illness has had on their lives and those of their loved ones. The legal process is a dauting and uncertain one for many of our clients and I am grateful to be in a position to utilise my knowledge and experience to assist them along the way.
